  • Import chart of accounts with account types and hierarchies
  • Import customers with balances and payment terms
  • Import vendors with 1099 tracking flags
  • Import inventory items with costs and prices
  • Validation catches errors before import
4

Connect Your Banks

Connect your bank accounts and credit cards via Plaid. Transactions will sync automatically going forward. You can choose whether to import historical transactions or start fresh.

5

Enter Opening Balances

Enter opening balances for your balance sheet accounts as of your start date. This establishes your starting financial position in Summit Books.

Tip: Use your QuickBooks trial balance as of your cutover date as the source for opening balances. This ensures your balance sheet matches.
6

Verify & Go Live

Run a trial balance, review your opening balances, and verify customer/vendor lists. Once everything looks correct, you're ready to start using Summit Books for day-to-day operations.
